My Civil War Reenacting Hobby
In June 2008 I attended Rendevous Days in Carson City. There I watched my first Civil War Battle. We visited the different military camps, civilian camps and suttlers. My family really enjoyed the event. Having a great interest in history and the military I spoke with the Union Commander. He invited me to attend the next event. "We will suite you up and drill you on proper rifle handling and soldiering," stated the Colonel. From that point on I have really enjoyed living history. Talk, eat, sleep, and be a union soldier.
I created this post to share some photos and good times with others. Enjoy!
Company "C" 2nd US Infantry
The 2nd US Regulars are made up of professional soldiers trained and drilled before and during the Civil War. These soldiers fought in the west during the Mexican/American War. When the Civil War began, these trained professionals were steamed back east to contribute in the fight against the Confederate Rebellion. Also known as Sykes Regulars they saw action in many important battles of the eastern theatre.
